More silverware for Simon Mignolet & Nicky Hayen

Gouden Schoen

Twofold triumph for Club at the Golden Shoe Award Show! Simon Mignolet has been elected Goalkeeper of the Year, while our coach Nicky Hayen was crowned Coach of the Year. For Mignolet, it will be the fifth time in six seasons he has won the award, whereas Nicky Hayen celebrates his first win, mainly courtesy of an amazing remontada last season leading Club to its 19th league crown.

For some years now, Club fans can rest assured: Simon Mignolet has got us covered in goal. In 2024, our Limburg goalie proved one of the pivotal players in that impressive UEFA Conference League run, but he was also instrumental in Club's home successes. With some crucial saves, he more than added his share, with 15 clean sheets in 44 games for Club across all competitions, and a saving percentage of 69%, even rising to 77% last season.

Taking over from Ronny Deila in March, Nicky Hayen was the architect behind Club's 19th league win. Starting from what looked like a desperate bid for the title, Club started a phenomenal remontada in the play-offs, going from 4th position to the top spot. Meanwhile, Europe also bore witness to Club's rise: in the UEFA Conference League, our T1 guided Club to the Semi Finals, and this season, a spot in the UEFA Champions League  illustrious Top 24 was harvested and rewarded with a spot in the UCL Knock-Out Phase.

Congrats to Simon and Nicky!
